Exploding sound and sense heightens musicality and semantic plurality in poem offering a non-exclusive site in which to engage in processes of sensual and cerebral pleasure in not only producing / making (writer) a text also in negotiating a reception of (reader) a poem a shamanistic revealing / enacting receiving an experience / a version of self via other in world via language play (a mirror) I am very much looking forward to the launch of Melissa Gordon's exhibition Fallible Space with the first ever performance of Mina Loy's play Collision (published 1916) 7pm tomorrow evening at the Bluecoat in Liverpool.
For more on Mina Loy there's a great interview with Sandeep Parmar here Sandeep Parmar curates an afternoon of readings and discussion at the Myths of Modern Women event 30th January 4-6pm (tickets £2/3). It's wonderful to have the chance to read from my Maps and Love Songs for Mina Loy at that event in such marvellous company with Sara Crangle, Zoë Skoulding and Robert Sheppard and of course the artist Melissa Gordon. |
